However, it is generally accepted that roulette, unlike blackjack and other card games, is a game of chance and betting systems have virtually no effect on the odds of winning.
Famous roulette betting systems
While all roulette betting systems have their benefits, some are more popular than others. The Martingale system, for example, is easier to understand and can be used by players of any level. By using this strategy, a player can build up a streak of winnings. This system is based on a mathematical progression: a player begins with a number and repeats it one time, adding two other numbers to the next number.
The Martingale system
The most popular and widely used roulette system across the world – Martingale System. Its charm lies in its simplicity, as its laws can be understood by anyone. It consists of gradually doubling your bets after each loss. You bet, for example, 1 chip on a box where the win is 1:1 – red/black, even/odd, high/low, and you bet over and over again on that predetermined box. In the event of a loss, you will double your bet amount, so it will now be 2 chips. If the situation repeats and you lose again, you bet 4 chips and so on, the principle is still the same.
System d’Alembert
D’Alembert has traditionally been one of the most effective gambling systems in general. Unlike Martingale, for example, it does not require such a large amount of funds in the account and is not subject to the limit of the roulette table. A comprehensive system is not limited to roulette only, but can be used for other casino games as well. The basic premise is to bet on a selected box that guarantees a 1:1 win ratio (even/odd, red/black, high/low). The start is the same as in Martingale, i.e. you bet 1 chip. If you lose, you increase your bet by another chip. And if you win, you decrease your bet by one chip. Thanks to this principle, you win more if you win than if you lose.
Fibonacci system
As the name implies, this system is based on the principle of the Fibonacci sequence and, like the d’Alembert system, is also applicable to other casino games. The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where each successive number is the sum of the two previous numbers. So: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 13, 21, 34 … We reseed the box where the win is 1:1. For example, we take black and bet 1 chip on it, if we win – we start over and if you lose, you mark the first number in the Fibonacci number line – i.e. 1. If you lose the next spin, you mark 1 again at the end of the line. If you lose this bet as well, you will mark the number 2 at the end of the line and the next bet will be 3 chips (1+2). The moment you get a win, cross out the last 2 numbers you wrote down and bet the sum of the last two numbers that are written down. If you win at least 4 out of 10 spins with this system, you are guaranteed not to be in the red.
